Who else lost a parent, maybe suddenly, when the parent was relatively young?

I lost my mom when she was 52, in late 2004, and it happened suddenly. I think both the suddenness and the young age are bad.

How old was your parent?

I'm sorry if this is a sensitive subject since it is about the death of a loved one.Who else lost a parent, maybe suddenly, when the parent was relatively young?
My mother was 34 when she died of breast cancer..I was 8.It was sudden because back then they were not as well educated about breast cancer ...so from the time she was diagnosed to the time she past it was 10 months...it had gone unnoticed for too long(this was the early 80's) She had a breast removed and started vigurous chemo therapy but all that did was leave her crippled with pain, bald and bleeding from her mouth constantly, her finger nails would bleed as well.I remember the best about my mother though.I remember how beautiful she was, what a wonderful god fearing baptist she was,and most of all how loving to us kids she was...I hold to that always...and keep in mind that if there is anyone that deserves to sit with the angels it is her...and I know for a fact she watches over us...there are way too many instances that I should probably be dead...but because of her watching over me I now have three great kids and a loving husband...this year I turn 35,1 year older than my mother was when she died...I do not ever let that escape me and always live my life to the fullest...I am sorry for your loss...I hope that you have been able to find some peace in knowing she is watching...please take care..Who else lost a parent, maybe suddenly, when the parent was relatively young?
Sorry about your mom.I too have lost Both of my parents.Within 7 months of each other .My mom died suddenly too from a bowel blockage she was only 69 maybe not young in a lot of peoples eyes but it doesn't matter the age your never ready to lose a parent. My dad died 7 months later latterly from a broken heart he just couldn't live without my mom.It has now been a 11/2 years since my mom passed and 1 year since daddy left us and they say it gets easier IM still waiting for that time.EDIT ....after reading others comments I have to say I was lucky that I had my parents for as long as I did.Reading the others here has really made my heart hurts sorry y'all for your lost....
I lost my Dad when he was 58. And it wasn't sudden. He suffered in the hospital for weeks, unable to talk or communicate with us. It was pure hell watching him suffer like that. I really think it would have been better if it had been sudden...his suffering haunts me nearly a year later.
I have not lost a parent i am lucky. I am sorry about your loss.
I lost my mother when she was 38 and when I was 7. Everyone thought she had a whole life ahead of her.
